VocalEssence provides outstanding enrichment opportunities to composers. Two programs co-sponsored with American Composers Forum challenge composers to write new music for voices and instruments.

• Essentially Choral is an opportunity for emerging composers to hear their works in progress read by a professional chorus and orchestra in a supportive environment.

• The Welcome Christmas! Carol Contest encourages the creation of new carols by offering a $1000 prize to one or two composers for their new holiday works.
