Three-time Regional Emmy Award-winning actor, vocalist, arts educator, author, and community organizer, T. Mychael Rambo, has made an indelible mark in the Twin Cities and beyond. He has performed principal roles at prestigious theaters such as Penumbra, the Guthrie, Ordway, Illusion Theatre, Mixed Blood, Park Square Theatre, 10,000 Things, Theater Latte Da, Children’s Theatre, and Minnesota Opera. Nationally and internationally, his stage credits span Carnegie Hall and performances across Africa, Europe, and South America. T. Mychael has also appeared in local and national television commercials, feature films, HBO mini-series, and various TV programs.
An accomplished residency artist and affiliate professor in the College of Liberal Arts, Theatre Arts, and Dance at the University of Minnesota, T. Mychael is a dedicated educator. As a recording artist, he has released two popular CDs: Simply—a collection of jazz standards, and The Gift: A Christmas With Love—featuring original and holiday classics. Notably, he had the great honor of singing the National Anthem for both President Barack Obama and former President Jimmy Carter.
T. Mychael’s work has earned him numerous accolades, including the 2009 Sally Award in Education from the Ordway and the 2010 Minnesota Black Music Award. His other honors include the McKnight Theatre Artist Fellowship, Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Fellowship, Bush Foundation Finalist, Young Audience Artist of the Year, and both the University of Minnesota’s Century Council Community Award and Outstanding Community Service Award. A dynamic public speaker, T. Mychael brings his rich blend of talents to motivational presentations for corporate and philanthropic leaders such as Target, Ameriprise, and the St. Paul & Minnesota Foundation.
