Daniel Kantor
b. 1960
As a composer, Daniel Kantor is best known for his beloved and widely popular piece “Night of Silence”. Additionally, Kantor is very active outside of the music world. Kantor earned a Bachelor of Arts in music from the College of St. Thomas (now the University of St. Thomas) and participated in the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies program at Hamline University. Kantor has found much success as an entrepreneur and product developer, including work with Coda Music Software and Finale, the popular music publishing software. Kantor is currently the founder/creative director of KantorGroup, a corporate brand strategy consultancy, and is a widely published author on design and branding. He also served as a FastTrack instructor at the University of St. Thomas, Graduate School of Business. Additionally, Kantor serves as one of about one hundred people that create crossword puzzles for the New York Times. His choral compositions are sacred, melodious, and deeply moving.
