Coreen Duffy

Dr. Coreen Duffy is the Interim Director of Choral Activities at the University of Montana School of Music, where she conducts the Chamber Chorale, Cantemus Women’s Choir, and University Choir, teaches conducting, and choral methods. Dr. Duffy earned her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in choral music from the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music, Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Miami Frost School of Music, Bachelor of Musical Arts, and Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She also served on the faculty at the University of Miami Frost School of Music, where she conducted ensembles and taught an array of conducting, arranging, and music history courses. Dr. Duffy is an active clinician as well as a composer. She promotes the music of Jewish composers, past and present, and has composed a number of choral works in Hebrew. Her choral works are published by Walton Music, ECS Publishing, and Pavane Publishing and regularly featured on reading sessions and as recommended repertoire.
