Members of the VocalEssence Ensemble Singers and Magnum Chorum, led by guest conductor Mark Stover, artistic director of Magnum Chorum, engaged the audience with “Blessed Assurance” during the sing-along portion of their performance at Lyngblomsten Mid-Summer Festival in St. Paul on Saturday, July 11, 2015. The performance and sing-along of hymns, spirituals and choral classics on the Chapel Mainstage at Lyngblomsten’s “celebration of arts for all ages” was well attended, and the festival was designed to accommodate special needs and various levels of mobility.
“The audience loved it. There were ‘amens!’ and shouts after many pieces, and teary eyes on some of the pretty ones like Danny Boy,” observed Ensemble Singer Robert Graham, who is also the education manager and music librarian at VocalEssence. Below you can see their performance of “Danny Boy.”
As a leading Minnesota arts organization, VocalEssence uses the power of choral music to enhance our community by producing innovative vocal music events that stir people’s souls.
