Notes | A “reel” is a fast moving repetitive dance tune in a duple meter, found in many western music folk traditions. Reel à Bouche is a French-Canadian lilting/ or mouth music piece. Traditionally performed for dances when the instrumentalists, ddler, or accordion player were either unavailable, una ordable or taking a break. This type of mouth music will often imitate the absent instrument and be accompanied by a clogging step, using a heel-toe pattern that is done either standing or sitting. A wonderful piece for a Christmas celebration. |
