Philip Brunelle
Artistic Director and Founder Philip Brunelle will be working with Phillip Shoultz to determine the roster of singers during late May and early June. With these very flexible days concerning audience sizes for fall concerts, we are preparing several plans to accommodate our options. The good thing is that we have the repertoire in place and just need to have the concert hall details confirmed.
Early June will include some composer meetings here and in New York City, as well as the first Brunelle grandson graduating from high school! Stay tuned for a Musical Moments update!
G. Phillip Shoultz, III
Associate Conductor G. Phillip Shoultz, III has moved into the summer with a wave of new adventures. First, in honor of George Floyd Memorial Week, he worked with Alms Creative to prepare our most recent program VocalEssence WITNESS: Say Their Names—Singing for Social Change, for broadcast on TPT.
Second, he’s leading a consortium of twelve Twin Cities area choirs in the Voices Rising: A Choral Affirmation of Black Lives project, which will be broadcast live on Classical MPR (99.5) and also livestreamed on the Chorus America YouTube channel as the opening night concert for their virtual conference.
Phillip will round out the month by spending two weeks in the mountains of North Carolina leading over 400 voices in song for the Montreat Worship and Music Conferences, sponsored by the Presbyterian Association of Musicians.
