Following the very successful and sold out Bach & Bluegrass Jamboree performance, Artistic Director Philip Brunelle and Associate Conductor G. Phillip Shoultz, III led performers in recording selections to be included in a new cd titled Mortals & Angels: A Bluegrass Te Deum that will be available on December 1, 2017.
Both conductors will be busy at the American Choral Directors Association of Minnesota Annual Conference this weekend. On Friday, November 17, they will be conducting the VocalEssence Ensemble Singers in their next VocalEssence ReMix concert. On Saturday, November 18, Phillip will be conducting the VocalEssence Chorus at the conference, highlighting a wide variety of musical styles. In the afternoon, Philip will present the VocalEssence Creative Programming Award to a high school choir director at the ACDA-MN Luncheon.
On Tuesday, November 21 Philip leads VocalEssence singers at the 2017 Nordic American Thanksgiving Breakfast Program, presented by the Sons of Norway and celebrating the work of Second Harvest Heartland and the Minnesota Military Family Foundation. Philip is also involved in the arts activities surrounding the Super Bowl–serving on the planning committee…more information to follow!
Both conductors will be busy in December with VocalEssence performances in addition to performances around the community. Philip will be conducting seven performances of the Minnesota Dance “Nutcracker” at the State Theater!
